Clock Removal - St Mary's Church
We had the pleasure of being commissioned by Andrew Woolley (Project Lead) to take aerial images and video of St Mary’s Church clock being removed for refurbishment for their records.
This was a really interesting job, steeped in history.
The clock was given to the church in 1848 by the Earl of Shelburne. We’re assuming that the clock face dates from this year, and has not been removed since then.
The clock itself was made by E J Dent of London, the same clockmaker that won the commission to build the clock commonly known as Big Ben. Unfortunately he died before completion, but a son of his completed the build.
